BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PLAN OBJECTIVES
·         The original project plan included acquisition of 120 deteriorated properties. Additional properties were to be acquired for public uses such as the widening of East Ocean View Avenue, extension of Pretty Lake Avenue, development of East Ocean View Gateway, and construction of new school. A later amendment identified acquisition of 16-block area in 30th Bay Redevelopment Area
·         Provision of relocation assistance
·         Provision of technical and financial assistance to homeowners for rehabilitation
·         Improve traffic flow on East Ocean View Avenue, including landscaping and traffic medians
·         Develop elementary school between 4th Bay and 7th Bay Streets
·         Develop “gateway” park in area Shore Drive Bridge
·         Widen streets in area east of Shore Drive
·         Improve infrastructure throughout the area with the addition of streetlights, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and plantings

PLAN STATUS/RECOMMENDATIONS AND ANTICIPATED EXIT DATE
Further study has determined that the city does not need an additional elementary school on the previously identified site. Plan amendment regarding the re-use of 3rd to 7th Bay site adopted. 3rd to 5th Bay designated as open space with the City to take the lead on the creation of a park at the site. A master plan to be developed by City Planning once funding is approved—status updated needed in third quarter of 2009. 
East Ocean View5th to 7th Bay Residential development going forward with engineer to begin drawings in Fall 2009. Actual construction will not move forward until after May 2010.
Development of East Beach to on hold until economy rebounds and existing product is sold. Rehabilitation technical assistance and funding will be ongoing. Acquisition of deteriorated properties will continue. Infill single family development will continue. Based upon current funding levels, it is anticipated this project will remain active for an additional 10 years.
