The Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (the “Authority”) invites qualified developers to submit proposals for the purchase and renovation of an existing single-family detached home on a lot located within the Campostella Heights neighborhood. The property is located at 1709 Princeton Avenue. This property is part of PRIDE, the Authority’s established purchase-renovation program. The goal of this program is to identify and acquire existing homes in good condition and offer them to developers for comprehensive renovation and resale. The Authority has performed selected demolition work, prepared proposed renovation plans and specifications establishing quality standards for the work. The developer may propose alternate plans and approaches that equal or exceed Authority standards. NRHA is offering this property for purchase by developers and individuals alike; however, the renovation is to be done by a qualified member in good standing with the NRHA Builders and Designers Guild. The overriding intent of the RFP is to encourage superior design and construction quality standards for homes of traditional design. The Authority is seeking conscientious builders with an eye for quality, both in construction and customer service, as well as good follow-through after the sale.
