Norfolk, VA (August 15, 2016) – Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority (NRHA) will open the waiting list for 2 or more bedroom assisted-rental apartment units beginning Thursday, August 18, 2016.  The 2 bedroom waiting list will close Thursday, September 1, 2016.  The one bedroom waiting list will remain closed. 

The assisted-rental apartment waiting list will remain open for applicants needing wheelchair accessible, visual or hearing impaired units and for applicants that need 3 or more bedrooms.

Applications may be picked up on the following dates:

 Thursday, August 18, 2016

Thursday, August 25, 2016

Thursday, September 1, 2016

Between 9 a.m. and noon only at 910 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, Virginia 23504

NRHA will not accept 2 bedroom applications received or postmarked after Friday, September 9, 2016.   All applications must be mailed by U.S. Postal Services and will be accepted by fax as a reasonable accommodation only.

Criteria for Grandy Village applicants include:

  • Employed for past 6 months and working at least 29 hours per week, unless elderly or disabled
  • Must have acceptable landlord reference for last 12 months
  • Children must be attending and in good standing as defined by Norfolk Public School System 
  • Any household member 16 years of age and older and not attending school full time shall be employed at minimum 20 hours per week and involved in a job training or vocational program.
