NRHA Announces New Client Services Director

Norfolk, VA (September 14, 2017) Yilla J. Smith joined NRHA this month as Client Services Director with responsibility for services to NRHA assisted-rental households, including case management, workforce development, financial counseling, youth activities, community engagement as well as grantsmanship to support these initiatives.


Prior to joining NRHA Smith was Manager of Housing and Community Engagement, The Planning Council of Hampton Roads. She administered Continuum of Care Program as well as housing programs for homeless and at-risk families in Hampton Roads region. Smith led health and human service assessments for organizations throughout region in addition to program evaluations and training on program planning and outcome assessments for all United Way agencies. Her portfolio also included grantsmanship and regulatory compliance.


Smith obtained her BA from Norfolk State University and MBA from Strayer University.
