Norfolk, VA (July 19, 2007) – Joshua Paige, who served on the NRHA Board of Commissioners from 1995 from 2003 and as Chairman from 2002 to 2003, died July 17 in Norfolk.

Paige, who was NRHA's first black chairman, also led the Inner City Federation of Civic Leagues and was on the board of Empowerment 2010.

NRHA Executive Director Shurl Montgomery remembers Paige as a powerful advocate for public-housing residents and underserved neighborhoods. “The citizens of Norfolk were well-served by his leadership and compassion on these issues,” Montgomery said.

Following a 30-year Navy career, Paige ran his own restaurant in Norfolk, Page Two, before retiring.
