NRHA Awards Lots to Three Builders

Norfolk Redevelopment & Housing Authority’s (NRHA) November 24, 2010, RFP for the purchase and development of 13 residential, single-family detached lots located throughout Norfolk has resulted in nine of the lots being awarded to three builders.

Richardson Homes Inc. was awarded three parcels on Arlington and Montclair avenues in Campostella Heights as well as two parcels on East Ocean View Avenue between 18th and 19th Bay streets. Hughes & Long Contruction, LLC, was awarded two parcels on Indian River Road and Whitehead Avenue in Berkley. Home Builders I. Inc., was awarded two parcels on Shipp Avenue in Central Brambleton.

Hughes & Long Construction, LLC and Home Builders I. Inc. are newcomers to the NRHA Builders & Designers Guild. The Guild is comprised of builders, architects and qualified designers, who share a common belief that quality design and craftsmanship are integral components of creating great neighborhoods. Guild membership is required for single-family (attached and detached) construction projects, where NRHA is the land developer.

Additional East Ocean View parcels will not be awarded at this time due to market conditions.

Construction on awarded parcels will begin within 60 days.
