Stop "unmitigated killings" of kids, Norfolk police chief pleads after 15-year-old's death



A 15-year-old boy was shot dead Sunday night in downtown Norfolk, the latest in a spate of gun violence that led Norfolk’s police chief to issue an appeal: Stop the “unmitigated killings” of kids on city streets.

Who is to blame? “Simply put, irresponsible gun owners,” Chief Larry Boone said in a news release sent out Monday evening. Gun owners must secure their firearms to prevent a kid from making a “split-second decision that changes everyone’s life...”
