Question and Answers
Question 1 - The bid units for this project does not reflect any pipe work but the plans show some pipe work. Is there any pipework in this project?
Answer 1 - This project includes pipe work consisting of new water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer mains and services. The project is being bid lump sum and unit price items are included only for those items that may be potentially added to the contract at the NRHA’s discretion. All pipe work is included in the lump sum bid.
Question 2 - Are the unit prices on the bid form for additional work? We think they are, but it does not read that way. It could be interpreted that the base bid includes only the items not covered by unit prices for bidding purposes (page 16 of 135).
Answer 2 - The project is being bid lump sum and the base bid should include the entire scope of work as indicated on the plan set. The unit price items are included only for those items that may be potentially added to the contract at the NRHA’s discretion.
